BIODIVERSITY: THE NEXT MOVE IN SUSTAINABLE FINANCE

Biodiversity is declining rapidly throughout the world. As more than half of the world’s economic output is dependent on nature, if natural systems collapse, the losses on the economy and the financial system are expected to be high. As the financial sector enables all types of economic activities, with both positive and negative impacts on nature, it has a crucial role to play in addressing the biodiversity crisis.

The ESSEC-Amundi Chair on Asset & Risk Management and the Shaping the Future of Finance Chair organize a workshop about sustainable finance and biodiversity crisis that addressing topics such as the way markets value nature-based assets and natural capital, how to implement innovative solutions to mobilize public and private capital to support biodiversity, and current and future developments in governmental policies for biodiversity targets.
